The first HTEC Educators Conference was held over 25 years ago at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY hosted by Sam Chiappone, with the assistance of Marty McGill. Bob Skodzinsky, always a champion for MFG education was in attendance. Later that year Bob “retired”, moved to Florida and took on the role of managing HTEC regional and Annual Conferences.
These HTEC Conferences provide an opportunity for educators training students in CNC Technology, to meet, collaborate and learn from each other.
Every year since the annual conference has grown and educators have made very important connections to bring back to and use to improve their own programs.
HTEC is led by an elected board of advisors who assist in making the conferences an enriching experience for all who attend.
To support education programs teaching CNC, by providing opportunities for educators and other resource providers (“Partners”) to connect (virtually and in person) to network, to mentor and to learn “best practices” from one another.
To promote and advance manufacturing productivity through excellence in manufacturing education.
To develop, deliver, and disseminate collectively the best educational methods and techniques for training students in CNC technology.
To introduce young people to careers in Manufacturing, especially CNC technology. And should they choose this pathway...help to pave the way!
In celebration of over 25 years of HTEC Conferences, we thought it would be fun to share past photos from these events on our new Flickr account. Please click this link to add your photos, these photos will be broadcasted on this webpage: HTEC Flickr
